What is meditation?  

Meditation is resting the mind and attaining a state of consciousness very different from the normal waking state. While meditating you are awake and alert but your mind is NOT focused or distracted by the external world or events taking place around you.  Your mind becomes clear, relaxed and inwardly focused.

 

Why should you meditate, what are the benefits?  

Resting and relaxing the mind helps organize information, you can see things more clearly and realistically.  Meditation helps manage stress and stressful situations more efficiently.

In mediation, you pay attention to dimensions of your self you may be avoiding or unaware they exist. You can listen to the guidance of your innermost self, your soul.

Learn to listen and speak to yourself.
